Universal Z-Axis Box Way Vertical Machining Center

Universal Z-Axis Box Way Vertical Machining Center

This vertical machining center is built for heavy‑duty cutting. The bed, column, and saddle use mountain‑rib and torque‑tube reinforcement. An extra‑wide base and large‑span guideways combine with a Z‑axis box way (heat‑treated and ground). It performs powerful milling, drilling, boring, and rigid tapping on large molds and box‑type parts.

Product Introduction

High rigidity and precision transmission are integrated here. Wide base, four‑rail support (X/Y linear guides, Z box way), and a high‑torque belt spindle (short nose BT40, 8000 rpm for heavy cutting or 10000 rpm for high speed) deliver excellent vibration resistance. Spindle motor options: FANUC 0iMF (118 Nm), Mitsubishi M80V (96 Nm), or Syntec 22MA (– –). The 24‑tool disc magazine can be upgraded to 32T. Rapids: X/Y 36 m/min, Z 16 m/min (slower due to box way weight). Accuracy ±0.005/300 mm, repeatability ±0.003/300 mm. As automation advances, this machine expands its role in batch production.

Equipment Manufacturing Process

01/

Requirement collection – Discuss drawing, material, accuracy (±0.005/300, ±0.003/300), output, automation. Technical team sets travel (X800/Y550/Z550 mm), spindle (belt 8000 or 10000 rpm), magazine (24/32T), control system (FANUC/Mitsubishi/Syntec), then outputs solution and quote.

02/

Contract & production release – Sign contract specifying acceptance, delivery, payment. On deposit, issue production order; start casting aging, procurement, scheduling.

03/

Component machining & assembly – Five‑side mill bed, column, other large parts.

04/

Acceptance & delivery – Invite customer for on‑site or video pre‑acceptance using typical sample. Customer pays balance. Rust‑proof, wooden case, ship.

FAQ

Q1. Spindle drive and speed options?

A: Short‑nose BT40 belt drive. Two options: 8000 rpm (8YU belt, heavy cutting) for high torque; 10000 rpm (5GT belt, high speed) for finishing. Choose based on workpiece material and process.

Q2. Z‑axis guideway difference?

A: X/Y use roller linear guides (35‑type and 45‑type). Z‑axis uses a heat‑treated ground box way with plastic coating. This balances rapid movement sensitivity with heavy‑cut vibration absorption, especially for deep cavity molds.

Q3. Why is Z‑axis rapid slower?

A: X/Y rapids 36 m/min, Z only 16 m/min. Z carries the entire spindle head and counterweight block. Lower speed reduces wear and impact, extending guideway life while ensuring long‑term accuracy and stability.

Q4. What are the spindle drive and available speeds?

A: Short‑nose BT40 belt drive. Choose 8000 rpm (8YU belt, heavy cutting) for high torque or 10000 rpm (5GT belt, high speed) for finishing.
